Month 4: Weeks 13-16

Week 13

Look at me! My sickness went away, my breasts aren't killing me, I have a little bump down there and I can feel the tingles of movement! I can see this is getting to be more fun now. It's getting harder to find pictures to put up, being as the fetus has slowed down and is mainly just growing bigger and more refined at this point. I'll do what I can. Today I have an appointment at my health center to work out my insurance and WIC stuff. I feel really wierd getting WIC, I don't ask for help most times because generally I can make do on my own, and even now we can make do just fine, but I qualify, so I might as well get my free cheese. I pay for it in taxes anyway.

Week 14

We had an ulrasound, and it's a baby! Wow, I had almost convinced myself it was a tumor, and there it was. That must have been the single most surreal moment of my life. Mike will no doubt tell all about it in his section, but he went to New York for a month, so it'll have to wait a bit. Here's the wee thing, complete with a head, a spine, and a leg. We know it has two arms and all ten fingers; we saw them waving around!

This may help figuring out what you're looking at.

Week 15

Mike is gone, and I've been forced to go shopping for maternity clothes. I bought a pair of overalls from Old Navy and really got it from Sal about contributing to sweat shop labor. It's good to have a conscience that does research for you. So now I'm relying on my dear auntie Beth to give me hand-me-downs, which I'll be lucky if I fit considering I'm about 5 inches taller and 6 sizes bigger than her. But that's the great thing about maternity clothes, right? And now I also have a big hurky bra that I had to buy. I never wear them as a rule, but things were getting out of hand. My mom made me get the biggest kind, with lots of support, and I imagine I'll really need it later on. But for having not worn bras, you know something? This one is really comfortable. I love it.

Look at my belly! Look at it! Mwah ha ha ha! These are my last pair of regular jeans that fit, and they pinch when I sit down. Ok, and here's one of a fetus I found somewhere:

Week 16

The hand-me-downs have arrived! I have a lovely suit now to go swimming in. My nice tight Speedo had been holding in my gut and making me look like a sausage, this one is nice and soft and lets me hang out. I also received some overalls and some shirts. Holy Cow! It's already time to start month 5!
