Weeks 37 - 40ish
The final countdown
Week 37
This week we poured the last of the bronze in my sculpture class, thus giving birth to two more of my sculpture babies. This birthing stuff is easy, and when I do it on my own I won't even have to handle molten metal. Yeah.

Lo and behold, my stretchmarks. Really, they could be worse. I rather like them, in fact. What I don't like is that my poor breasts are rearing up to go, and they're engorged and sore, often leaky and causing me to smell like cheese at the end of the day. You know that sweet/sour baby smell that infants and new mothers have? Well babies smell like the moms, not the other way around.
Week 38
I can't keep away from the doctor this week. I went yesterday, and was asked to come back today to - ah - look into a problem I might have. So today I arrive, no doctor. He's delivering someone's baby, the nerve. So I get to see him tomorrow. I'll let you all know if I've managed to develop yet another rare disease that makes all the doctors swoon with delight. At any rate, I'll be seeing the Dr every week until I deliver.
After this week, expect phone calls any day! The baby could come at any moment. My feet look like ham hocks, and I get light-headed just walking around the grocery store. My BH contractions continue to increase, particularly when I move or get poked in the belly (thanks Mike).

Week 39
It's my birthday! I turned 23 today (November 26th). Last night we went out for thai food at my favorite restaurant, followed by cake and a movie at home. We ripped open baby shower presents (thanks Mom Mac!) and basked in the joy of the occasion.

See how full I am from eating all that thai food? Mike is here with me at work today. Tonight he and my mom will be dancing a demo, and Mike will be doing some highland dancing. I'll probably be at home, considering my legs are so swollen I can dent them with just sitting. Tomorrow is our next appointment, seeing as how we're going every week now. I think the baby has dropped a bit, so maybe it will come in the next week or two.

Week 41
Sorry to skip week 40, but I was on the couch with puffy feet. Although Mike did update his section that week. This is the best week of all though, cause baby was born! Here is our son, Gavin Oz.

He was born on Monday, Dec 16th at 7:23 am, after 12 hours of fairly easy labor.
